CDA Subject Area 2. Advancing children’s physical and intellectual development

This CDA Subject Area 2 helps educators learn the necessary methods for understanding cognitive development in young children, identify ways to support learning, and employ ways to facilitate learning through play. Through the use of engaging videos, relevant training, and interactive assessments, participants are bound to have a thorough understanding of how to plan advance children's physical and intellectual development upon course completion. 


WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

The course can be taken at your own pace and all results are recorded electronically. In order to obtain your certificate you must first successfully complete these topics:

  1. View and complete the e-learning
  2. Achieve a score of at least 80% in the quiz
  3. Complete and submit the feedback form

Once these activities are marked complete your certificate will be available to download and print.

  • Understanding the Language and Literacy Development of Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
  • Creating a Language and Literacy Learning Environment
  • Supporting Children's Oral Language Development
  • Fostering Children's Reading Development
  • Fostering Children's Writing Development
  • Supporting Dual Language Learners
  • Partnering With Families



Module 4: Creative

In this module you will learn the following ways to support children's creativity:

  • Recognizing Creativity
  • Making A Case for the Arts
  • Designing Environments That Promote Creativity
  • Supporting Creativity Through Daily Interactions and Experiences
  • Promoting Creativity Through the Visual Arts
  • Fostering Creativity Through Music and Movement
  • Encouraging Creativity Through the Dramatic Arts
